Hi Andrea,

This is the first opportunity I’ve had to write to you since the wedding.

What a wedding! I could have never imagined a more perfect day in my life.

Thank you for being instrumental in making our wedding day the best day of our lives. You are a true master.

After two such wonderful months as we’ve had it was difficult to return back to our normal routines. It has been particularly difficult not to have something on the horizon to look forward to. We cannot thank you enough for everything and of course you should feel free to give any future clients my email address – I’d be more than happy to give them a recommendation and to give you a stellar review!

Could you please send us your mailing address – we’d like to send you a small thank you as a token of our appreciation.

Tell us about your wedding and honeymoon? We’d love to hear all about it!

Also if you have pictures we’d love to see them!

Thank you again for everything,

Linda

Andrea,

we are now home and able to reflect even more on our spectacular Wedding day in Prague.

We will always be grateful to you for not only pulling this together in record time, but also for the incredible coordination of all details  that made the event go so smoothly and stress free.

The dinner at La Perle was absolutely amazing, and a great finish to the day.

We look forward to receiveing soon news that the package is on its way . In the emantime, if I could ask one more request: perhaps the photographer has some existing photos of the dancing building exterior as well as the view from the terrace of La Perle that could be included with our wedding photos or emailed as jpg attachments? It would be nice to capture the venue that completed our special day.

In the event you have potential clients who request reference, we would be grateful to share our experiences.

With best regards,

Kathryn

Dear Andrea,

Fantastic to hear from you! We hope you and your business are well.  Your services were fantastic and the best decision, other than getting married, we made. You are the best!  But, I still awake during the night with images of 808 and hundreds of people. What does that mean??

Yes, we are still the same and enjoying wedded bliss.  Rome was fun and we await even more photos from the Hilton.

Peter The Enforcer had a great bike trip to Vienna but did not find love. Boo.

Our Summer has kicked in to high gear with wonderful weather. I can send you some images if you like.

All the best,

Gary & Kathryn

Salabka

About

In the St. Georges monastery’s archives from the Prague Castle, is a first mention of the Trojan vineyard. Situated in Troja, it was producing wines for our kings, generations after generations. Since the 18th Century, the little property, was named after Jan Kašpar Salaba, the owner. The modern history of the Salabka vineyard began in the years 1953 – 1955.

During the communist regime, the vineyard was abandoned. Then Professor Vilém Kraus resurrected it 15 years ago: a rare breed of an old clone of Riesling was left. In total 10 000 grapevines were specially imported from France like during the kingdom of Karel IV. in the 14th century.

On the right bank of the Vltava River, Salabka vineyard covers an area of approximately 4.5 hectares only. In the immediate vicinity of the Botanical Garden, Salabka is known as the largest vineyard in Prague to produce only top quality wine. They produce approximately 10 000 bottles of wine per annum. In 2015 they start the production of 2 000 bottles per annum of brandys and grapa as a first distillery in Prague.

Wedding ceremony

Wedding ceremonies can be held in the wineyard, on the terrace or inside the building. Reception can be again outside on the terrace, in the restaurant or smaller gorups can use the degustation room.

Wedding reception

The restaurant was built on the remains of historic barn, keeping the original cellars. The cuisine is full of sun – soleil. Style full of taste and aroma from Provence, Mediterranean Sea and orient – this is sunny cuisine. They carefully choose the best quality food from their suppliers with regard to the current season. Therefore comes concept based on a seasonal menu.

About:

Vysehrad, the rock above the river with its dark outline of slender spires, is an inseparable part of the Prague skyline. The traditions of this mysterious site are bound up with the legends whose literary treatment was worked up Alois Jirásek from the ancient chronicles into his work “The Old Czech Legends”. These tell of the Princess Libuše, who foresaw the future glory of Prague from her seat at Vyšehrad, and who sent a delegation to seek out Přemysl the Ploughman, founder of the ruling dynasty, as well as of brave Bivoj, the wondrous horse Šemík and its leap from Vyšehrad rock, and of the War of the Maidens. The legends of Vyšehrad, explaining and celebrating the origins and early years of the Přemyslid state, have made this one of the Czech nation’s most distinguished sites. A fortified settlement appeared at Vyšehrad sometime during the 10th century. The first definitive evidence for the existence of the Vyšehrad hillfort are Přemyslid denarii of Boleslav II, minted there in the mid-10th century.

The present appearance of Vyšehrad was largely determined in the second half of the 19th century. It was led by a number of nationalist-oriented provosts. Church of SS Peter & Paul was rebuilt in the Neo-Gothic style to a design by J. Mocker and F. Mikeš that respected the disposition of Charles IV’s Gothic design. It was then that the idea arose of founding a national cemetery at Vyšehrad on the site of the parish graveyard. At the same time it is also a unique gallery of funerary sculpture, and an expression of Czech artistic development from the second half of the l9th century to the present day.

At the 21th century, Vyšehrad retains its atmosphere of magic and mystery. It offers visitors one of the most beautiful urban panoramas of bygone Europe, quiet parks for relaxation, and true cultural and spiritual inspiration.

About:

František Bílek built his studio villa in the Prague Castle District (Hradčany) in 1910–1911 based on his own design, and its architecture is deeply rooted in his artistic philosophy and ideas. Bílek envisioned his Prague villa as an expression of “life as a field overflowing with ripe corn” and its untraditional ground plan was derived from the image of a scythe harvesting grain. The shape of the villa’s columns reminiscent of old Egyptian temple architecture is likewise remarkable. The exposed exterior brickwork and rough cut stone bring the villa’s architecture closer to nature and to traditional craftsmanship.

This two-storey Art Nouveau villa also includes an adjacent landscaped garden.

Wedding ceremonies may be held on any day of the week, both in the artist’s studio inside the villa and outside in the adjacent garden. Due to the size and layout of the villa’s interior the maximum capacity for each ceremony is 20 guests. The villa’s garden is a further attractive space which can be used for apero after the ceremony.

About:

Nelahozeves Castle is located 35 km north of Prague, high above the Vltava River. With its impressive Renaissance architecture, engaging museum exhibition and picturesque setting, the Castle is a popular destination for all visitors.

Nelahozeves Castle was built for Florian Griesbeck von Griesbach (1504-1588), a highly educated Tyrolean aristocrat and private secretary and close adviser to Emperor Ferdinand I. Despite its great beauty and noble character, Nelahozeves Castle never served as the family’s principal residence, unlike the Lobkowicz Palace in Vienna, and later, Roudnice castle.

In the late 19th and early 20th century, Princess Wilhelmina Lobkowicz (1863-1945), daughter of Moric, 9th Prince Lobkowicz (1831-1903), sponsored and maintained at the Castle a religious institution for unmarried and widowed noblewomen, The Order of the Sisters of God’s Love. Wilhemina, who lies buried in the village cemetery, was the last Lobkowicz to live at the Castle.

The Castle was confiscated by the Communist government in 1948. During the late 1970s and 1980s, the Castle was used by the Czech Regional Gallery to exhibit modern socialist art, as well as some of the Lobkowicz family’s paintings.

In 1993, the Castle was returned to the Lobkowicz family and a temporary exhibition was immediately opened. In 2007, when certain works on display at Nelahozeves Castle were transferred to Prague to become part of the family’s new museum at Lobkowicz Palace, Nelahozeves Castle was reinstalled with an exhibition of historical period rooms, Private Spaces: A Noble Family at Home.

Residence Libechov

About

The building is a dominant structure of Libechov in the picturesque region of Kokorin, 8km from Melnik and a mere 30 minutes drive from Prague. The Kokorin valley is a favoured destination for Prague’s citizens and artists, especially because of its temperate and healthy climate, a rich historical background, overwhelming sandstone cliffs, romantic cycle routes and tour paths.

The hotel is a reconstructed 1930s villa, built in art deco style by architect Josef Lauerman. Factory owner Mou?ka of Prague, who had it built for his wife, commissioned it. It was confiscated by the Wehrmacht during the second World War, returned to its owners following the war’s end, only to be confiscated again by the communist regime in 1948. It was returned to the descendants of the initial owner in the restitution of 2002. In the meantime, the villa served as Prague’s training centre and as an educational facility. The reconstruction of the villa preserved the architectural art deco style both in the interior and exterior, as the oak parquets, wooden balustrades, stucco ceilings, forged metal railings and a marble fireplace command respect for olden craftsmanship.

About:

Chateau Jablonna nad Vltavou is home amid a green area of 3 ½ hectares flanked by two ponds all set into a charming landscape marked off by the rivers Vltava and Sázava, some 40 kilometres outside the limits of Prague.

The very first reference to the location dates back to 1318. In those times the present chateau´s site was dominated by a water redoubt in possession of the Knight Eberhard of Jablonná. In the 1920´s, Dr Rudolf Vodička, a bank executive, was known to be the last owner of the chateau. During the WWII years, this part of Central Bohemian region was declared a restricted military zone used by Germany´s SS units for their exercises. Later on the German Gestapo chose to convert the estate into their archives depot.

Since the 1960´s the chateau was under management by the National Committee of the Capital Prague. This authority found it fit to serve as Senior Home. Following the “Velvet Revolution” in 1989, the property was restituted by descendants of the last pre-war owner – Dr Rudolf Vodička. Further vested with a social care institution status, the Senior Home resided on the estate for another 10 years. In 2005 the ROYAL interier privately owned company bought the chateau and opened it to general public following a thorough makeover in the autumn of 2009. Reconstruction works proceeded observing the ultimate priority of conserving original features of both the property and the adjoining park. Chateau Jablonná nad Vltavou is listed as the Czech Republic´s National Trust monument and known as a point of interest and tourist destination to visitors both domestic and international. Regularly, guided tours are provided which include standard narrative on the chateau´s history.

Stone Bell House

• wedding receptions for up to 150 people (gothic cellars) and up to 60 people (Concert hall)
• open bar available (unlimited consumption of house wine, beer and soft drinks)
• type of cuisine: upon wish (catering)
• rental fee required

About:

The origins of the Stone Bell House date, according to the latest constructional and historical researches, from the second half of the 13th century, when a lengthwise building behind the monumental spiral corner with massive perimeter walls was built. The oldest building phase is preserved in the cellars and on the ground floor of the south wing. The second building phase followed in about 1310. At that time there was raised the chapel with rich figurative and ornamental painted decoration covering the walls and the dome.

The typical house sign was placed at the corner of the building in the 16th century. After 1685 and in the 18th century baroque adaptations of the building took place. Preceding a demanding restoration of the Stone Bell House, during which the neo-baroque facade from the 19th century was pulled down, extensive constructional and historical research was carried out, which revealed the Gothic facade. Restoration was finished in 1988 and the City assigned the building to serve as the GHMP exhibiting space for its important exhibition projects. In the building there is a Gallery shop and in the rear part of the building is a café.

Melnik castle

About

Since Princess Ludmilla, who was born in Melnik, the Castle has become the residence of the queen widows of Bohemia. Under Emperor Charles IV Melnik became a royal city. His last wife had the chapel of the Castle with gothic vaults built.

The last queen who resided in Melnik, was the wife of Jiri Podebrad. In the following centuries the Estate of Melnik has been pledged to different noble families. In 1542 the Castle has been reconstructed in Renaissance Style and the two arcades richly decorated with sgrafitto patterning have been added.

During the Thirty Years War, the Castle was abandonned. In the year 1646 Count Czernin started a major reconstruction and had the Early Barroque southern wing added. The Count purchased the Melnik Estate form the Emperor. The heiress of the Czernin family, Countess Ludmilla Czernin, married in 1753 Prince August Anton Lobkowicz. With the exception of the Second World War and the 40 years of communist rule, Melnik Castle remained in the family.

The present owner Jiří Lobkowicz is renovating the Castle since 1992.

The vineyards of Mělník lie approximately 35 km north of Prague at an altitude of 200 metres above sea level. Mělník forms part of the Czech wine region, one of the northern-most viticultural areas of Europe. The vineyards of Bohemia do not form a contiguous wine region but consist of several vine growing districts situated on the south-facing slopes of the valleys of the rivers Elbe, Vltava, Berounka and Ohře, each with its particular microclimates. The vine growing district of Mělník has 160 hectares under vine making it the largest vineyard area in Bohemia.

• open bar available (unlimited consumption of house wine, beer and soft drinks)

• type of cuisine: upon wish (catering)

• rental fee required

About:

Colloredo-Mansfeld Palace is one of the most outstanding examples of palace architecture in Prague, with a rich combination of building styles combining elements of High Baroque with subsequent Rococo and Second Rococo modifications. The Baroque building, located at one of the most frequented sites of Old Prague near Charles Bridge, has foundations dating from the Romanesque and Gothic periods that had previously been rebuilt in the Renaissance style.

The Baroque dance hall is the most splendid and probably the best preserved space in the Palace. Its decoration was completed around 1736–1737, with a ceiling mural depicting a gathering of the Olympian gods created by the mural painter Pietro Scotti and the quadraturist Giovanni Battista Zeist.

Wedding ceremonies may be held on any day of the week. The ceremonies are held in the Dance Hall (virtual tour) located on the first floor of the palace. The hall is accessed via the palace’s piano nobile, offering a unique experience of spaces rich with traces of the past.

Social events may be held in the Dance Hall (virtual tour) and the adjacent small salons of the piano nobile. Due to the technical condition of the Palace the present maximum capacity of the hall for social events is 90 guests. The richly decorated Baroque hall with an area of 160 m2 can be used for organising gala dinners, receptions and conferences.

There is no heating provided in the Hall during the winter months.
