Coloredo Mansfeld Palace

Facts:

• type of ceremony – civil, church (protestant), symbolic

• available dates and time – on request

• capacity of the hall is approx. 70 people

• length of the ceremony is around 25 min

• civil ceremony is in Czech, translated into English (or any other language), church or symbolic ceremony in any language

About:

Colloredo-Mansfeld Palace is one of the most outstanding examples of palace architecture in Prague, with a rich combination of building styles combining elements of High Baroque with subsequent Rococo and Second Rococo modifications. The Baroque building, located at one of the most frequented sites of Old Prague near Charles Bridge, has foundations dating from the Romanesque and Gothic periods that had previously been rebuilt in the Renaissance style.

The Baroque dance hall is the most splendid and probably the best preserved space in the Palace. Its decoration was completed around 1736–1737, with a ceiling mural depicting a gathering of the Olympian gods created by the mural painter Pietro Scotti and the quadraturist Giovanni Battista Zeist.

Wedding ceremonies may be held on any day of the week. The ceremonies are held in the Dance Hall (virtual tour) located on the first floor of the palace. The hall is accessed via the palace’s piano nobile, offering a unique experience of spaces rich with traces of the past.

Social events may be held in the Dance Hall (virtual tour) and the adjacent small salons of the piano nobile. Due to the technical condition of the Palace the present maximum capacity of the hall for social events is 90 guests. The richly decorated Baroque hall with an area of 160 m2 can be used for organising gala dinners, receptions and conferences.

There is no heating provided in the Hall during the winter months.

St. Agnes cloister

Facts:

• wedding receptions for up to 400 people

• garden with a possibility of wedding ceremony, welcome cocktail etc

• open bar available (unlimited consumption of house wine, beer and soft drinks)

• type of cuisine: upon wish (catering)

• rental fee required, depending on type of the function room

About:

In the northeastern corner of Staré Mesto is the former Convent of St Agnes, Prague’s oldest surviving Gothic building, now restored and used by the National Gallery. The first-floor rooms hold the National Gallery’s permanent collection of medieval art (1200-1550) from Bohemia and Central Europe.

In 1234 the Franciscan Order of the Poor Clares was founded by the Premysl king Wenceslas I, who made his sister Anežka (Agnes) its first abbess. Agnes was beatified in the 19th century, and with timing that could hardly be accidental Pope John Paul II canonised her as St Agnes of Bohemia just weeks before the revolutionary events of November 1989.

In the 16th century the buildings were handed over to the Dominicans, and after Joseph II dissolved the monasteries, they became a squatter’s paradise. They’ve only been restored in the last few decades.

The complex consists mainly of the cloister, a sanctuary and a church in French Gothic style. The graves of St Agnes and of Wenceslas I’s Queen Cunegund are in the Chapel of the Virgin Mary in the Sanctuary of the Holy Saviour. Alongside this is the smaller Church of St Francis, where Wenceslas I is buried. Part of its ruined nave and other rooms have been rebuilt as a chilly concert hall.

The gallery is fully wheelchair accessible, and the ground-floor cloister has a tactile presentation of 12 casts of medieval sculptures with explanatory text in Braille.

Dear Andrea,

I’m happy you received the Slovo issue.  It seemed to capture most of the events quite well.

You were a major part of it, arranging some memorable and wonderful events.  I am very happy to have worked with you.  This was not an easy set of events but your skill, talent and commitment made them work out really well.  And gracefully overcoming many last minute challenges.  Like redoing the head table 10 minutes before dinner!  You handled that gracefully for sure.  Bet you’ll not forget that one soon.

You were a terrific partner in this enterprise, always positive and creative in the best way.  I would be delighted to be a reference for you and your firm.

With kindest regards,

Dear Andrea,

I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks and appreciation on your professional services on my wedding in Prague, held on June 16, 2011.

Since the early stage of preparation, you’ve been supportive and attentive to my tedious requests. Your calm and consistence did ease the nerves of an overseas bride like me. I particularly appreciate your superb coordination and facilitation among all services from different vendors, ensuring everyone support my day professionally and efficiently.

I’ve written a review of your service in my personal blog: http://hk.myblog.yahoo.com/writelamching/article?mid=9092, though it’s in Chinese, basically, I highly recommended your services to all couples who plan to get married in Prague. if you have any potential customers who read Chinese, please feel free to share the link with them.

I’ve selected 20 photos for Lukas to make further touch-up. He’ll post it to Facebook once ready…. and feel free to link those photos to your facebook.

Thanks for your help and do let us know if you come to Hong Kong.

Warmest regards,

Portia & Jackson

Dear Andrea,

I’m finally at work ! We had a major disaster here in Atlanta upon our arrival. They had a huge snow storm and the temperature dropped down and everything turned into ice. The whole city was shut down. We were supposed to open on the 11 but did it  only on 15th. We couldn’t even leave our driveway. It was all ice. Since Georgia is very hilly it was bad. If we only knew we could plan that week in Prague. But first of all I would like to thank you many many times  for everything you’ve done for us. It was just perfect. You are absolutely the best and it was such a pleasure to meet you. You are a true professional!! I will tell everybody about you. Thank you!! Even the trip to Vienna. You arranged everything so well. The drivers came right on time and both were such great guys. Thank you to them too. Vienna is beautiful and delicious but rather expensive and not as cozy as Prague. We are in love with Prague!

As for business. We are very excited to work with you. Yes David can design anything you want , from any material. He does the design first, then he makes a mold and the ready piece. People can even bring us their own gold and old jewelry. They also bring pictures or scathes. We do have a very bad and old web site which we are in the process of updating. ( it’s Addingtonjewlers.net  you also have to type it on top of the page , not in google place in the middle. Long story. We lost our original domain after 5 years) At least you can see the old on ( 6 years old shame on us!) We don’t use it as much here because our business in word of mouse and people come to talk to us in person. We  did some business on line too. We would love to expand. Meanwhile we can send you some pictures of the recent cool pieces he made with description and everything. I will send you some stuff tomorrow. May be we can talk on skype one day about all details how we can arrange it. Have to run talk to you tomorrow

With all my love

Large scale remodeling of the Palace interior was undertaken in the mid-17th and 19th centuries, as well as functional alterations under the Communist regime (1948-1989). The castle was confiscated by the Communists in 1952 from Prince Maximilian Lobkowicz. Max was a friend and supporter of Thomas Masaryk (President of Czechoslovakia) and his son, Jan Masaryk (Foreign Minister) and became Czechoslovak Ambassador to Great Britain during World War II (serving from 1939-1948). The Lobkowicz Palace was returned to the Roudnice Lobkowicz family in 2003 under the restitution laws of 1991.

About:

The coal mill (Uhelny mlyn) building dates back to the 1930’s. Coal mills have always been a stamp of the engineering industry. We can see how they’re still present in evolving technology, like in the boiler room (Kotelna).

Both buildings were built from bricks from the local Fischer brothers construction company, burnt from locally mined clay and are interconnected with the now inoperable underground shaft, which used to transport coal dust.

With technological advancements, the previous use for the Úhelný mlýn was lost and it was retired from use and transformed into an storage building for office supplies. The fate of Úhelný mlýn was indefinitely sealed after the floods in 2002. The new age and revival of the building came when projects for its renovation came in 2010.

Hi Andrea,

Hope you have a great time in Italy !

Sorry not getting back sooner to you but I was very busy with my Mum’s health these few last days. She’s still in poor physical condition and going through plenty of medical examinations.

We wanted, Lisa and I, to thank you for the great job you did for us and wish you the very best for the future.

Do not hesitate to ask for advice concerning your new website…I’ll be very much interested to see what will happen with it.

Everybody of our guests was happy and appreciated the very good organization of our wedding day. I think the few Russian traditions which we had to go through, made it even more authentic and friendly. The weather turned to very good from our wedding day and everybody could enjoy the city under a great sun.

I was surprised Jean-Luc from the French embassy finally didn’t come.  He’s in France at this time.

We’ll keep in touch for the papers business

Here are a few ones made by friends and family.

Take care, Andrea

Bruno.

Hi, Andrea,

We’re glad you liked the flowers – just a little something from us to say thank you and to brighten up the cold days. 🙂

I’m so excited to see the video and the rest of Stepan’s photos! Do you think you could please put in a request to Vaclav to include the opening procession of the wedding party and me and my dad in the video? That choir was just incredible – I think it was one of the best decisions we made for this wedding. We’re getting a second CD from Vaclav with raw footage from the day, correct?

Enjoy your weekend, too!

-Maggy and Eric

Dear Andrea and Iva,

My husband and I wanted to send along our sincere thanks for doing such an outstanding job of organizing our daughter’s wedding. We know Maggy is very particular about certain details (or all of them), and thank you for putting up with her for 8 months! You did an amazing job pulling everything together and introducing Maggy and Eric to great vendors.

Please pass along our thanks to Marketa and Ivo – we’ve already written to Stepan and I plan on writing to Lucie. The Intercontinental looked simply beautiful thanks to Lucie and her team, and Marketa’s gorgeous flowers. My cousin is a florist (she was in attendance) and she was so impressed with the flowers and how they were arranged. All of the details felt very special and personal. And Ivo did such a great job with Maggy’s hair and makeup! The other team of makeup and hair artists were also wonderful on that day; the girls and I felt very special and well taken care of.

We know that the both of you put in many hours to make this weekend flawless. It couldn’t have been easy to work over such a long distance, but it was very important to us and to Maggy that we hold the wedding close to Jelenia Gora so that her grandparents and our family could be there. We have received so many compliments from not only our friends and family that attended but also those who could not make it, but were delighted with the photos. We’re so happy that you could make our daughter’s wedding everything she dreamed of and more.

Thank you again for creating memories that will last us a lifetime!

Best regards,

Elizabeth and Mirek

Hi, Andrea,

We’re both doing well – it’s great to hear from you! I saw photos of you and Tom at the party in London on FB – looks like you two had a blast. A little alone time for mommy and daddy is fabulous for you two and awesome for the grandparents, too! 🙂

Whatever photos Stepan chooses for the magazine are fine with us.

Regarding the theme, the city of Prague and the Intercontinental’s Zlata Praha Restaurant were my inspiration. I wanted the vintage elements of the wedding, such as the flowers and other decorative touches like the brooches, tablecloths, china, cake, frames for family photos, etc. to reflect the old-world and glamorous beauty of Prague. The view of the city’s spires from the Zlata Praha provided an amazing backdrop for all of these decorative elements. The vintage theme made the wedding very special to us as it served as a tangible and cohesive connection to gorgeous Prague. I absolutely chose my wedding dress and jewelry, as well as the bridesmaids’ dresses and jewelry, with the vintage theme in mind. I thought the lace and pearls on my dress, as well as its ivory color, were quite romantic and yet intricate like the architecture of the city. The bridesmaids’ dresses were delicate with a vintage charm to them, especially when paired with the long tulle, pearl, and beaded necklaces.

Thanks for all the compliments. 🙂 We both feel so lucky and happy when we think of all that you did to help us pull off our wedding. My parents and Eric’s parents honestly cannot say enough about it…it was unforgettable for us all.

We’re in the middle of a pretty crazy winter here. Every few weeks, we get hit with a huge snowstorm, just last night, we had an ice storm. We’re ready for spring! Also, I’m in the middle of a pretty intense job search; I’m ready to move on from my current company. Designing the look of weddings to reflect a couple’s personality and taste is something that’s definitely crossed my mind after the incredible experience of my own wedding, plus Ashley and Emily’s weddings last year, but I’m kind of at a loss of where to start. So, things are quite busy here in Middletown, but that’s life. 🙂

Thanks for thinking of us for the article. We’re always happy to lend a hand if helps showcase your business.

Take care and lots of hugs!
Maggy

Hi Iva,

I just wanted to email to say Thankyou so much for all the hard work that you and Bohemia events put into our wedding! Me, Carl and all of our guests had a fantastic day and it was a perfect, fairytale wedding. It was all that we had hoped for and more and we know that we could not have done it without you, so ‘Thankyou’!

When we started planning the wedding more than a year ago, I never dreamt that it would be as amazing as it was on the day, and we wish that we could do it all over again! Im sure that we will be back to Prague one day, maybe for our Anniversaries over the years, as I am missing the city already!

Our guests commented how lovely you were and how helpful you were throughout the day, (despite our guests being quite ‘merry’!!!). The staff at the Goldenwell were brilliant, and all your input made everything run smoothly during the week and especially on the wedding day itself.

Thankyou for helping us choose a fabulous location, with the amazing service and the best view in Prague!

We look forward to recieving all the paperwork and of course our photos!

Please email me when the paperwork is on its way so that I can look out for it!

We wish you and everyone at Bohemia Events all the best the the future and hope that the business continues to thrive! If any of my friends are thinking of a wedding in Prague I will definately be recommending you!

Once again ‘Thankyou’

With Love

Dobry Vecer Iva!
Long time we do not write to you, so here we are with some news.

We hope you are doing fine and you have been enjoying some relaxing holidays, so you are ready to take care of your next customers.

From our side, we are doing fine.
We have been receiving the documents, the pictures (including wallpaper) and we went to pick up the envelop sent by Andrea containing the Italian version of the wedding certificate.
We have been busy in checking the pictures, in bringing personally the marriage certificates to the proper places, we had few days off in Southern part of Switzerland to recharge our batteries (we have been in Lugano and it was really nice from the weather and environment point of view… just one thunderstorm and a lot of sun!) and now we are here to write you.

First of all, thanks from the deepest of our hearts for your continuous support during the entire “project”.
We have been realizing the difference you made in taking care of the preparation and making everything in your range to give us a wonderful day for our marriage.
In the effects, we did not have any other focus than ourselves during June 19 as we were sure everything was ready and, in case of need, Iva would have taken care for us!
The way you have been handling with us, the clear and open way to present alternatives, the “adventure” at the Italian Embassy (never on Tuesdays!!), the support you have been giving us increased our level of confidence in your personal and professional skills.
We have been really impressed by the wedding ceremony as well… the representative of Prague 1 has been using wonderful words… we felt he was not just reading, he was really feeling what he said and we felt it as well. In such moments every detail is important and this aspect was really crucial. With Karen we always comment, looking back at the picture of the ceremony when this guy was talking, that he was like a sort of grandpa explaining what a marriage is to a younger generation.
It was nice, really and we appreciated the value of the words… funny, we could agree totally!!!!!
We have been pleased by your presence at the reception and we honestly thought was the minimum we could do to prove our appreciation for your hard work you made for us.
We felt we were not just customers for you, but very close people to support 100000% to make sure that special day was going to become unique and unforgettable.
Thanks Iva for all, we know you understand what we mean with those words and that they are sincere.

We have been receiving the pictures and decided to see them only when we had enough time to enjoy them.

We can confirm you the first impression for both of us was just “WOW”… we have been enjoying every photo and we have really seen our feelings captured by George in the right moment. All the pictures are really exceptional and George’s “belle epoque” style is really visible on the black and white photos.
We have been showing them to some colleagues in the office and everybody was really deeply impressed. One lady working with Karen was getting jealous as her wedding pictures (taken just few days before our wedding by a part time professionist) did not meet with any expectations.
In front of this comment, we felt even more lucky!!!!!!!!
We have been writing to George to personally thank him for the enormous job he made and for sure, in case you have a chance to talk to him, please confirm him our fully gratitude to have managed to capture the real spirit of our marriage.

Our live together started in the best way we could imagine… and now we continue step by step together to face what life is going to prepare for us…

Ok, we do not want to take too much of your time that could distract you from activities for another customer, so we close this message sending you a picture we like to watch when we think about our friend working in Prague.

Thanks for all once more from the deepest of our hearts.

If you would like to stay in touch with us, just for a quick hello once in a while, we would greatly appreciate it.

Take a good care of yourself,

Karen & Andrea

We’re due to go on honeymoon on Friday. Jeff has his MBA graduation on Thursday so we needed to wait for that. We’re seriously looking forward to relaxing and sleeping!! We’re driving down the Croatian coast to Montenegro, staying in Split, Kotor, Dubrovnik and then a quick stop off at the Plitvice lakes.

We are really happy with Stepan’s photos. He did a truly fantastic job! Of course you can put some pics up for the testimonial. We’d also be happy to write something if you like.

Thank you once again for all your hard work. It is thanks to you that we were able to relax and enjoy our day – I will always recommend you to any friends in need of help!

Looking forward to catching up when you’re next in Budapest.

Lots of love,
Klara & Jeff

Dear Andrea,
I’ve written this recommendation of your work to share with other LinkedIn users.

Details of the Recommendation: “We hired Andrea to plan our Prague wedding in 2010. From beginning to end, the whole experience was perfect, and I give Andrea and her assistant Iva credit for much of it. She knows weddings. She knows Prague. She’s an excellent project manager. And she’s a joy to work with. I would trust that any other event planning that she does is done just as flawlessly. We were able to enjoy our wedding day without worrying about any orchestration ourselves; a rare treat by all accounts.”

Facts:

• available dates and time – on request

• ceremonies take place in the garden, inside in beautiful Grand hall or Stable hall

• length of the ceremony is around 25 min

• civil ceremony is in Czech, translated into English (or any other language), church or symbolic ceremony in any language

About:

Troja Chateau is a grandiose 17th century affair, complete with French gardens, Baroque sculptures, splendid vaulted ceilings and a wonderfully detailed (illusionist) mural in its Grand Hall.

The chateau’s most prominent feature, an overblown, yet still impressive external (horse-shoe shaped) staircase, leads from its main entrance to the formal French gardens below. Ornamented by statues of the ancient gods of Olympus triumphing over the Titans, a multitude of Baroque figures adorn both wings of the staircase, while the balustrades incorporate two of the rebellious giants in battle.

Inside, the Chateau’s richly decorated (and fully restored) interior sets the scene for what is undoubtedly the highlight of any tour – the Grand Hall. Painted from floor to ceiling, the room is a gushing tribute to the Hapsburg Dynasty, with frescoes depicting the triumph of Emperor Leopold I’s forces over the ‘infidel’ Turks. Elsewhere, the top part of the Hall displays murals portraying the bravery, wisdom and success of the Austro-Hungarian empire of the age.

The Grand Hall is used for only selected type of events for very prestigious groups. Stable hall, the previous stables with baroque frescos, is another great place to make your wedding receptions, with the capacity up to 220 persons. Chateau garden is also very popular for wedding celebrations.

About:

Considered by many to be the finest example of Art Nouveau architecture in Prague, this building is also a triumph of artistic collaboration. Constructed between 1905 and 1911 the house, which has been painstakingly restored to its former glory, was built to the designs of Osvald Polivka and Antonin Balsanekand raised on what was once the court of the Bohemian Royal family.

The interior, which includes a number of impressive works by the world famous Czech artist Alfons Mucha, is surpassed only by the building’s lavish entrance and exterior façade. Here, the central wrought iron gate and stained glass canopy are complimented by a truly delightful mosaic entitled ‘Homage to Prague’ which, in turn, is flanked on either side by sculptures depicting ‘Humiliation and Rebirth of the Czech Nation’.

Building is built around Prague’s biggest concert venue – Smetana Hall, thus providing a wonderful setting for the Prague Spring Festival as well as art exhibitions throughout the year.

Hi Andrea:

I just wanted to say thank you again for all of your help in planning our wedding.  I also want to apologize for not recognizing who your husband was until after he left our wedding reception dinner.  I thought he was simply a driver who had basically hung around for a bit at our reception dinner after giving us a ride from Old Town to dinner.  I did not realize that he had taken over the planning/support for you and that he was your husband.  I guess that I had other things on my mind that day 🙂  Please let him know that I said thank you and we appreciated him being there.  I think that you and we had done such a good job planning everything that there was very little to do on the actual wedding day.

Anyway, I am sure that Rebecca will be in touch regarding pictures, etc. I just wanted to be sure to personally thank you for everything.

George

Hi, Andrea, sorry for the late email. It’s been crazy busy with work since we came back. We really appreciate all that you have done. The day couldn’t be more perfect. Hope you are doing well and best wishes to you and your baby.

Many things during the wedding have exceeded our expectation. The flowers are absolutely stunning! The restaurant was wonderful. We can’t imagine to have our reception at a better place. The decor was wonderful and charming. The food was absolutely fabulous. Stepan was an very attentive photographer and I can’t wait to see the pictures. Do you know when we will see the pictures? Thanks again for all your help.

Best wishes. Rebecca.

My wife and I are from two different backgrounds – I am American and she is Chinese.  We wanted to be married in a country that has a different culture than ours, is charming and unique, has great people, is interesting and has unique sightseeing for guests, and would be a great launching point for us to travel on our honeymoon.  Prague, with its well preserved 13th century architecture, location close to our other favorite parts of Europe (Austria, etc.), and warm, hospitable people, was an easy choice.  Thank you to the people of Prague for having us.  After traveling around the world, we can confidently say that you have one of the most beautiful city landscapes we have ever seen.

Hi Andrea,

We are now back in Hong Kong and ready to leave for our honeymoon!

I am therefore a bit short on time but we did not want to leave before sending you a big thank you email!

The wedding was an absolute dream. Cecile and I did not dare dreaming of such a beautiful and smooth event. From the moment we arrived in Prague last Wednesday everything turned out to be a fairytale.

Your organization, your choices of suppliers and venues was spot on and very professional. Our guests where as enthusiastic as we are and we received only very positive feedbacks on the whole event.

Let me know about the outstanding payments. Please also pass our thank you to Iva who also did a fabulous job.

We look forward to being in touch,

Francois and Cecile

PS: Should you ever need references or if you have a prospect who wants to speak with a former client I am very happy to act as a referee.

Dear Andrea, dear Iva,

I would like to thank you for the perfect organisation of F&C’s wedding! Everything went on smoothly, everything fitted as expected – even the weather! What a day! F&C were and are sooooooooooo happy! And I am glad we choose your company to plan the whole event!

I hope you got home well – we finished on time, some though went on partying in Prague until 7am …. ! I just heard positive feedbacks the whole sunday!

A big big thank you!

Wishing you all the best for the up-coming weddings and all the best on your private side :-).

Best regards Valérie

Mirka,

Thank you again so much for such a perfect day, it was truly magical and amazing, so much more than we ever imagined it would be.  We had a stressful week leading up to the day and had worries about it!!  There was nothing at all to worry about, you did a magnificant job and were complimented by all our friends and family.

Everyone enjoyed themselves as much as we did, they commented that it was such good service and a very grand day!!  All thanks to you, you made it happen.

We will remember you and our time in Prague with fond and happy memories and hope to visit again soon, it was all so perfect.

Please pass our thanks and enjoyment of the day onto all the staff at Letensky, the photographer and the DJ, we could not have asked more of all invloved.

We are looking forward to receiving the photgraphs to remember the day!!  Thanks you so much again.

Dear Andrea,

We hope you are enjoying your vacation and relaxing in the sun – you really deserve that:)

We are doing very well, and arrived well back to Norway. We are so greatful for everything you have done for us, the wedding was just like we dreamed it would be and even more, it was like a fairytale that came true. We wish we could turn back time and experience everything all over again – the whole day was just perfect. And now we are happily married;)

You are an amazing person Andrea, both our families felt that at once:)

Thank you for the final budget, we will pay the final amount this weekend.

We are thinking of coming to Prague in December to see the Christmas market, maybe we will see each other again then:)
